Early detection of eye disease with a simple snapshot
We have the most advanced gadgets at our office!
Our office is equipped with the latest technology, allowing us to capture images of your eyes, map out your peripheral vision and monitor annually for any changes.
Humphrey Automated Perimetry
This instrument maps out a patient's visual field and allows our doctors to screen for glaucoma or even neurological diseases. If diagnosed, visual field testing is used to monitor progression of glaucoma.
Nidek Navis Fundus Photography
This specialized camera allows us to image and thus document most retinal findings. This technology is also helpful in educating our patients on what is happening inside of their eyes.
Optovue Optical Coherence Tomography
This medical imaging instrument allows our doctors to scan various ocular structures in more detail than ever before. Each OCT scan produces a high resolution, three-dimensional image. These images can detect subtle retinal or corneal irregularities which may go undetected through traditional examination techniques. This instrument is especially important for diagnosing and monitoring diseases such as glaucoma and macular degeneration.
Blood Pressure
Uncontrolled hypertension can cause short and long-term vision problems. It is important for our doctors to detect any systemic issues which can potentially interfere with our patients' vision.
Slit Lamp Microscope
This instrument allows our doctors to evaluate the health of the front of the eye as well as the inside of the eye including the retina. This is also a key instrument used for evaluating the fit of contact lenses.
Tonometry
Tonometry techniques allow our doctors to accurately measure the pressure inside of your eyes. San Dimas Optometry employs two techniques for this measurement. Non-Contact Tonometry acts as a screening tool for all patients while Golmann Applanation Tonometry is a more specialized industry standard.
